Lunch with Dean Phillips

Twenty-five MBA students, from both the full-time and part-time programs, received an intriguing history lesson when we gathered for lunch with Dean Susan Phillips on March 27.  Dean Phillips, the Dean of the School of Business and a professor of finance since 1998, told the story of how our new MBA curricula – and our beautiful Duques Hall – came to be.  Referencing the Business School’s Strategic Directions and Goals, she explained how our ever-evolving vision, mission, values had influenced her and her team and inspired them to seek both new facilities and a new way of teaching.  Stressing integrity, leadership, and service became especially important to GWSB leaders in the post-Enron era, and this reaffirmation of their core beliefs became the foundation of the new GW MBA.

We are so pleased that Dean Phillips took the time to meet with us and share her thoughts on the past and future of our Program.  She has our sincere thanks for the opportunity, and we hope this is the first of many dialogues!
