Thanks again to everyone who made Hands on DC an extremely successful event! We ended up raising $725 for a scholarship fund for DC students who couldn’t otherwise afford to go to college plus a $500 donation that was used to Adopt-A-School and provide the supplies for Jefferson Jr. High that all the volunteers used Saturday.
From the MBA office’s donated funds and T-Shirts, to the individuals who made donations even if they couldn’t come, to the 42 volunteers that came out on a beautiful Saturday, everyone was an integral part in making Saturday a success! In fact, the MBAA thinks that this event along with MBA Week has the potential to become a valuable GW MBA tradition, so stay tuned next year for details!
In addition, we were selected by the GMAC (the board that writes the GMAT) as a feature school for MBA Week and thus had a camera crew following us around on Saturday. I think we portrayed a great representation of the dedication and passion in this program and I hope that this will be conveyed to the GMAC board.
I will send out details of the video footage in Monday Mail as soon I get them. On behalf of the MBAA board thanks again!
