Hi everyone,

I wanted to write and request that you consider taking fifteen minutes and filling out the Princeton Survey for MBA programs (http://survey.review.com/). You have to set up an account and it’ll take a solid ten to fifteen minutes, but it is highly important to our school’s rankings, image in the business school community, and ability to recruit high quality candidates. These surveys will be used as an important part of Princeton’s rankings of business schools, which come out each year. Of five categories that are part of the PR rankings, four of them are directly correlated to student surveys. Here’s the link for the full explanation (http://www.princetonreview.com/guide-business-ratings.aspx).

If you do participate, please be honest, but keep in mind that these rankings have a direct bearing on the overall value of our degree, which affects on campus recruitment choices, average salaries, and alumni fund raising (scholarships, etc.). The MBAA is continuing to try and help students address inconsistencies and issues regarding the day to day student experience in house, so that these surveys can be a unified effort to present the school accurately and well.

Thanks all, have a great spring break!

Robert

Were you interested in applying for the Certificate in Responsible Management until you heard that one of the requirements was maintaining an individual blog?

If so, I wanted to make you aware of a new group blog for the Certificate in Responsible Management. Applicants now have the option to participate in the group blog instead of maintaining their own individual blog, or to participate in both.

The hope is that this new blog will help to spur dialogue among participants, serve as a resource for applicants, and make it easier for applicants to share their experiences with a larger community by compiling blog postings on one central site. If you are interested in participating, I urge you to explore the new blog which includes recent postings and bios from current applicants, information about the certificate, and requirements.

In addition, there is a new LinkedIn Group called: GW MBA Students for the Certificate in Responsible Management. If you are a current applicant and would like to join, please let me know.

If you have any further questions, or would like to apply, please feel free to contact me at: ebr@gwmail.gwu.edu

A special thanks to Karen Bulthuis. Without her help, this blog would not have been possible.

Links for Life is a program designed to create “links” between members of the GWSB student and alumni population by offering a forum for them to connect. This program will give you access to alumni in an informal setting. You can gain professional insight and ask questions that you may not ask in an interview situation. You will also have the opportunity to speak with alumni about the current happenings and activities at GWSB.

The luncheon is scheduled for March 23rd from 12:15pm – 1:30pm in Duques 650. The lunch is free and space is limited, so we encourage you to register no later than Thursday, March 11th.

During the luncheon, students are asked to engage in a conversation with their GWSB Alumni table leader about their career path and how their education at GWSB guided their decisions. Students are also responsible for asking questions of the GWSB Alumni table leader to ensure the conversation keeps flowing. The objective of this program for students is to provide a forum for you to ask questions that you may not necessarily ask in an interview and gain insight into the course of study/career/industry that you are interested in pursuing. Please use this opportunity wisely to form a connection that could help you in the future.

Below are the list of Alumni Table Leaders. Please email Amy Schwartz with your name, degree, expected graduation year, and your rankings of Alumni Table Leaders. Your email will be your registration for this event, you will not be registered without sending an email with the above information. Please rank ALL of the alumni listed from your first to last choice as it will be on a first come, first served basis. Your first choice is not guaranteed and some table leaders may be added last minute and paired with others.

1. Deputy Director – Planning, Coordination and Analysis in the Office of Budget, Finance and Award Management for the National Science Foundation
